6 March 2007

I must say that the 16 pupils in the cheering team are marvellous! I'm actually quite surprised at their capability! I guess this goes to show that we can be what we want to be if we really put in our heart and soul into it. Even if we don't get to the finals, the team is already a winner for having come this far. Bravo, team!

When I talked to a few pupils today, I realised that they had the idea that they do not have to comment on my blog. Huh! Sometimes I wonder if my instructions are not clear or my pupils simply have problems comprehending. It seems the problem with our pupils is that they always hear but do not listen. Anyway, I really hope that all pupils of 6Kindness will comment on my blog as this is one way to practise using English language in a practical way.

This afternoon, there was 2 earthquakes in Sumatra, about 430km away from Singapore. I felt the 2nd tremor while I was doing my work in the staff room. It seemed that the tremor was felt in other classes at about 1150am earlier on. I was in class but I think we were so engrossed practising the cheer and routine that we didn't feel a thing. I was told that pupils in other classes could even feel their tables and chairs move. Wow! That's really interesting. However, I guess it wasn't that pronounced so we were not required to evacuate the building, unlike St Andrew's Junior College.

That's all for now!

Perhaps we were too engrossed in practising the cheer.I'm sure that if it's a very serious one, the school would announced over the PA system and would evacuate the students.Hopefully, this kind of disasters will not happen ever again. It could be a danger to us Singaporeans even though many people thought we are safe as we are not in the danger zone. I think the school can provide more information as to what we should do in case of emergencies.
